Trail Overview

Fenceline is a 3.3-mile point-to-point single-track trail that climbs out of the Fox Hill campground area with several switchbacks. The trail is chunky in places, with large, loose rocks and a rootball obstacle that is the most difficult feature on the route, though it can still be rolled over with some momentum. Fenceline crosses several other trails along the route, with limited trail signs further up. An Oregon State ATV operating permit is required for all vehicles within the Mount Emily Recreation Area. The trail is open year-round; however, management requests that trails not be used when mud sticks to tires.

Difficulty

Fenceline is a dirt bike-only single-track trail with steep switchbacks climbing out of Fox Hill Campground. MERA rates portions of the trail as blue and other sections as black diamond due to the loose rock, rock steps, and steep, loose climbs. The biggest obstacle is the large root ball further up the trail, which can usually be rolled over with some momentum, though less experienced riders may want to walk the line first. Loose rock and chunky sections can make traction inconsistent in spots, especially on the climb. Trail intersections can also be confusing due to limited signage. Conditions become significantly more difficult when wet, and riders should avoid using the trail when mud sticks to tires.
