Trail Overview
Elk Trail #24 within the Prospect OHV Trail System is an easy ATV trail for vehicles 50” or less. The south end starts at the Woodruff Play Area, and it curves along the east perimeter of the play area for 1.6 miles as a wide and gradual two-track with minimal technical elements. It has shallow ruts, gradual curves, and bits of loose rock, but is very easy and flowy, with no obstacles. It rides through a scenic forest of western white pines and Douglas firs, with short climbs and descents over the rolling hills, and sweeping corners with berms. After the first 1.6 miles, there is a half-mile section of the shared-use road portion of Trail #24, before it connects to another trail segment. It goes north through a shaded forested corridor, the trail again being wide, flat, and smooth. It is mostly soft dirt and gravel, with long straight sections and very gradual curves. All intersections are marked with signs to help follow the route. It ends on the north end at a paved section of Trail #68.
Difficulty
This is an easy ATV trail because it has minimal technical features. It only has minor ruts, sweeping corners, and minimal elevation change. It is an ideal trail for newer or younger riders, through approachable and low-consequence terrain.
