Trail Overview
Welcome to Cline Buttes OHV Trail 21, a wonderfully scenic and short traversing route through a beautiful high-desert landscape. This path primarily consists of a distinctly narrow, meandering double-track dirt road featuring mostly flat, compacted sand. As you cruise along this relaxing stretch, you will weave through a charming forest of tight, green juniper trees. The path introduces a few mildly off-camber sections that gracefully wrap around tree wells, along with some easy, rolling whoop sections to add a bit of fun character to your drive. Visually, the trail features a distinct narrow pinch point framed by large junipers marked with colorful tied ribbons, and right in the middle of the journey, you will encounter a brown metal ranch-style gate blocking the path. This gate signifies a change in land ownership, but it remains unlocked, allowing you to simply open it, pass through, and continue your peaceful adventure.
Difficulty
This path is exceptionally easy and stress-free. The terrain is dominated by flat, firm sand and gentle, rolling whoops that will not pose any clearance issues. The only minor challenges to keep in mind are the slightly off-camber sandy sections near the tree wells and the exceptionally narrow width of the trail. Because the desert brush and juniper trees encroach closely on the sides of the track, you will want to drive carefully to avoid light paint pinstriping as you smoothly navigate the sandy turns.
