Trail Overview
Cline Buttes OHV Trail 20 Loop, a thrilling and scenic single-track route perched atop a high-desert hill. Clearly marked by a brown fiberglass sign indicating a "Most Difficult" rating and a strict motorcycle-only designation, this loop offers a highly dynamic mix of terrain. To even reach the starting point of this loop, you must first conquer a demanding, steep, and rocky hill climb on the preceding connecting trail. Once you are up on the plateau, the landscape opens into a mostly flat, incredibly fun, and fast-flowing dirt ribbon that weaves heavily through fragrant, low-hanging juniper trees. The trail surface rapidly transitions from soft, sandy stretches filled with tight, rolling whoops to sudden, challenging rock gardens. Throughout the ride, you will encounter beautiful, sun-dappled corridors of pine and sagebrush, sharply contrasted by narrow trail sections littered with sharp, embedded volcanic stones and loose, flat rocks scattered directly across the path.

The beginning and end of the loop feature hard, technical rock gardens, loose dirt sections, and uneven rocky ledges that demand absolute precision. When navigating these challenging rocky obstacles, it is crucial to pick a very careful line, purposefully positioning your tires over the highest points of the embedded stones. This deliberate driving strategy allows your suspension to properly absorb the impacts while maximizing your undercarriage ground clearance, keeping the bottom of your machine safe from harsh scrapes or high-centering.
