Trail Overview

This wide, graded trail is beautiful but can be exceptionally slippery because red clay soil covers much of the route. The road appears smooth and easy to travel, and the trail descends steadily, so expect to slide and lose traction in muddy conditions. Given the amount of moisture typically present in the area, use extreme caution and consider avoiding the trail whenever the surface is wet. Rockfall is also possible along the route, so remain alert as you travel. The trail ends at the established endpoint, where there is an area suitable for dispersed camping. This area is open year-round on gravel roads. However, travel on dirt roads is restricted during October 1 through June 1. OHV use is prohibited where vegetation is present on the road during fire season, typically June through October. ATVs, UTVs, Side-by-Sides, and Dirt Bikes must always have a valid Oregon ATV Operating Permit sticker.
