Trail Overview

The start of this road is steep, with washboards and loose gravel. So put it in four-wheel drive or go slow to help keep them from getting worse. Dispersed camping along the way to get to Niagara 20, which is where you are headed. But not the only place up here. Some spots on Niagara 20 are also steep and loose. Depending on the weather conditions will have running water. And towards the end of Niagara 20 may have a very small water crossing due to an abundance of rain or snow melt.

Difficulty

The higher up you get during the winter, the likelihood of more snow is a possibility. And in one spot, there is a tiny water crossing. But during the rain and snow, it may be bigger. There is nothing too difficult though, just water crossing over the road, but it is very possible. Water erosion to the road can be relevant as well due to maintenance during the winter times. The road gets a little tight up top, so if you like your paint all nice and scratch-free.

History

It is in one of the devastating wildfires that hit. Beachie creek fire.

Awesome drive! 4wd is needed in a few spots and 4 low helps a lot coming back down. Small tree blocking the road just before the very top, didn’t ha e a way to clear it so had to turn around.

Very narrow in places and uphill all the way. The burns helped keep visibility good for the tight turns. The views are breathtaking and very worth the trip, just put in 4L and take it all in!

This was the best trail I've ever been on. I found that going uphill was a bit easier for me, although my heart was racing because it was quite high, and I felt a little scared of falling. The challenging part was going downhill because you don’t want to go too fast. However, I must say the trail is beautiful. I had a great time, and I would definitely recommend it if you want to explore high places and navigate a lot of gravel. There are also some rocks that you can climb a bit.
