Trail Overview
This absolutely stunning trail follows a ridgeline with significant drop-offs, so use extra caution throughout. The road is quite narrow and steep in places, with a long downhill section followed by a steep climb on the return trip; take it easy on the descent and watch your brakes. A small side road leads to a target shooting area, with nearby space that could likely accommodate dispersed camping. This area seems to be popular with hunters, so watch for other users and shooting activity. This area is open year-round on gravel roads. However, travel on dirt roads is restricted during wet conditions, which typically occur from October 1. OHV use is prohibited where vegetation is present on the road during fire season, typically June through October. ATVs, UTVs, Side-by-Sides, and Dirt Bikes must always have a valid Oregon ATV Operating Permit sticker.
Difficulty
Overall, this is a gorgeous mountain drive, but the constant switchbacks and elevation changes require patience and careful driving
