Trail Overview

Trail 100 is a long SxS loop through the Huckleberry Flats OHV Area. It has multiple segments of trail for vehicles 65" or less, connected by short segments of road. This loop is directional in a clockwise direction. It's the longest trail in the trail system, and is mostly just a fast and flowy dirt trail that winds through the forest with quick, sharp curves. However, a couple of spots get more technical with deep muddy ruts and trenches. Expect waterbars, bridges, large mud puddles, shallow stream crossings, and a couple of short climbs. Sometimes there are warnings for upcoming hazards such as sharp hairpin turns or a damaged bridge. The northwest segment is the most scenic area of the trail as it rides along the edge of the hillside with views overlooking the hills to the west. The middle section (south of Trail 105) had some really deep mud trenches that come up suddenly, and had a shallow stream crossing where an old bridge doesn't exist anymore, where the exit from the stream is full of small roots. The middle of the route has a couple of short climbing sections that are steeper and rutted, but the rest of the trail is very gradual. The segment that drops down from Trail 109 also had more frequent mud puddles and trenches as it gradually descends towards the warm-up loop and staging area. Directly across from the staging area, it goes north for an additional easy segment that has muddy ruts and a bridge crossing that was damaged at the time (in May 2026), which indicated to cross at your own risk. The bridge was just sunken in a bit to the ground below, through a muddy swampy area, but it seemed fine to cross. Overall, it's a long route that can be ridden by itself as a loop, or riders will likely ride it in segments to connect other trails in the area, as this is a main thoroughfare through the trail system

Difficulty

This is an easy, but long, SxS trail that has frequent minor technical elements such as deep muddy ruts, short climbs, shallow stream crossings, and bridges. There aren't any major rock obstacles, and it's mostly smooth dirt, but drivers should definitely expect ruts and changing mud conditions.

Access Description

The Huckleberry Flats OHV Area has about 65 miles of trail, including several single tracks, but mostly SxS trails for vehicles 65" or less. The staging area is accessed by Forest Road 1928, north of the town of Oakridge. The trails range from easy to difficult, and are all well-marked and easy to follow. All trails in this OHV area are one-way. See the official map for the directional nature of the trails, which is available at the staging area, and there are signs at the end of each trail indicating when not to enter the wrong way. This area is ideal for families and newer riders. The staging area has a warm-up loop, picnic shelter, vault toilet, map, and large parking areas.
