Trail Overview

This trail links a few different forest roads together to end at an amazing open camp area with room for several rigs and easy access to the glover river. It has several small water crossings and minor obstacles. Some of the trail is very tight, and most of it is slow rolling. It has amazing views and lots of places to stop and take a break. You will not be disappointed with the end of this trail.

We came to this trail from the Cedar Creek trail. Quite a bit of SXS mobbing around. Once you get right to the river near the bridge, there is a little intimidating hill climb. This portion of the route is a ton of fun. I was able to do it in my Porsche so don't let the loose rocks start you away

We run this trail atleast once a month. Great training trail for beginners to introduce them to a more technical trail. the south end is more vertical challenging with the loose rocks. Trail use to be more secluded and mostly 4x4 traffic, but the SxS's have found it an it's getting wider in places. Trail has a couple of primitive Camp sites located within. All in all a great trail.

Glover River Camp Route was a lot of fun. It was filled with several steep rocky inclines and declines with crevices and small ledges all throughout the trail. As of January 22nd, 2025, there are still several sections with snow and ice due to the recent winter weather we’ve had. Because of the steep rocking inclines, crevices, ledges and snow present, I have to give it a 3 for difficulty. Good trail!

We went out cedar creek trail to the river and then came back Glover River camp trail. The Glover River trail was much more exciting. Some steep climbs needing clearance. Those climbs were washed out with possible loose rock. Most of it was one lane with beautiful views. I definitely wouldn’t have rated this trail a 2 probably closer to a 4 in parts but worth the time.

Trail is open. The area near the Glover River bridge is not for novices. Loose rocks and tight trail requires patience and steady nerves. All creeks and rivers are low, so the water crossings were dry. If you head over to Shell Rock Road and head down to the river, it is also tight and you may come back with pin-striping.

Had some downed trees on the trail that we had to pull to the side to be able to make it through the trail.

Deep ruts and washes due to recent rain. Some skill is required took us about 1hr 20 minutes to go from glover camp back to the highway. If your goal is just to get to glover camp then I would recommend taking the cedar creek trail instead.

Be prepared for pinstripes. The first 80% of the trail is a rough dirt road that is decently rough. 2x4 for that. The last little bit of the trail is pretty rough. Super narrow and 4x4 with clearance and skill is needed. But super fun trail. Stock 18 4Runner with 275/70/17’s

It was more of a 3/10 difficulty up until you hit a fork in the trail around 3/4ths down where there’s a steep incline that’s off camber. We turned around cause it was mushy dirt since it rained this morning.

The further you get in past Glover river to the south the tougher and tighter it gets for full size 4x4. I have 2018 Z71 and the long large grade shift with loose slate under you that made it slick for being dry. Go it slow for those heavy trucks. The trail is dry and very dusty today.
