Trail Overview

The bypass for Dead Man's Slide is definitely safer than its namesake. However, it is not your typical bypass. With an extremely steep incline and a large ledge to climb or drop off of depending on your direction, it is its own challenging obstacle. The ledge is only two and a half to three feet tall, but it sits on an incline that is already 20 to 30 degrees. This is a bypass, but it's still not for the faint of heart.

Access Description

This trail can be found at the end of Roller Coaster on the south end. Taking the trail to the right will put you on the bypass. Taking the trail on the left will put you on Dead Man's Slide. From the valley below Dead Man's Slide, go east and then you'll see a trail on your right (south) covered in medium-sized rocks heading uphill. That is the bypass.
