Trail Overview

This trail is a dirt/gravel road that is well maintained. There are several low water crossing along this trail with 3'' to 8'' of water to cross and all with concrete drive-throughs. The gravel road has loose rocks and some washouts/mud holes. Cedar Creek runs along the side of the entire trail. Towards the west end of the trail along the ridge line has some great views of nearby mountains. At the west end, there is a new concrete bridge that goes over the larger part of the Creek which is where they have redesigned the road. On the right, right before the bridge is the original trail that will take you to a river crossing that depending on rain may be 1' to 3' deep. You will need to turn around and come back through it to get back to the trail. There is numerous dispersed campsite along this trail. A pull-off and unloading area to park trailers is at the beginning of the east side of the trail near Highway 259. Plenty of side trails to explore off of this trail. During fall it is a very scenic drive. Just remember to pack out what is packed in and check for local burn bans. Tread lightly as always.

We ran Cedar Creek Trail yesterday, and trail conditions were excellent! Despite the recent heavy rains across the area, the trail was surprisingly dry, with only a little dust in many sections. There were a few water holes along the route, but nothing that should be a concern for most stock 2WD or 4WD vehicles. Overall, Cedar Creek remains an easy, enjoyable trail that's great for beginners, families, or anyone looking for a relaxing day on the trails. If you're planning a trip out there soon, conditions are looking very good. Safe travels, and as always, be courteous to others and help keep our trails clean!

Little bit of sXs traffic but an easy trip from 259 to the shell rock rd/52420 junction where we turned left on to 52420 where the fun began.

Nice easy trail. There are a couple of what appear to be small old quarries that have a few nice obstacles to traverse. Other that that, not much going on until you get to the big part of the creek.

Start of memorial weekend, SxS’s starting to show up along with a couple dirt bikes. Everyone was respectful to share the road. Great scenery, road was easily completed without need for any 4wd.

I drove Cedar Creek trail right after Glover River Camp Route and it was very easy. Just a dirt trail with no real difficulty. Due to the recent snow and winter weather, there were a few downed trees that have been partially cleared and can be driven around. If you plan on driving Glover River Camp Route before or after Cedar Creek, be advised that it is much more technical and difficult.
