Trail Overview
Old Lodge Road provides users with another opportunity to explore deeper into the surrounding state game lands. The trail is primarily a tighter two-track route and appears to receive less traffic than the wider gravel and dirt roads found elsewhere in the area. Although the trail is less traveled, signs of state maintenance are still present, helping keep the route relatively straightforward under normal conditions. Users should remain cautious following periods of heavy rain, as mud holes and softer sections of trail may develop and can become considerably deeper when the ground is saturated. The narrower track and surrounding vegetation provide a more remote feeling while traveling through the game lands. Views of the surrounding pine forest add to the experience and make Old Lodge Road an enjoyable addition to the area's larger trail network.
