Trail Overview

Coming up onto Little Buck Creek - FS 470, located above Lake Tahoma off of Highway 80 in Marion. You will casually drive past many homes alongside the lake until you are met with the forestry sign that starts your ascent up the mountain. Many postings and private property signs are spotted up until you enter the Pisgah National Forest. Numerous streams can be spotted throughout the ride, which can be perfect for trout fishing or daily swimming. A few campsites are available and do offer plenty of distance between each site, providing added privacy. This trail does offer some pull-offs to allow others to pass by safely, but mainly one vehicle wide.

Difficulty

The terrain is overall even and flat after being redone when it sustained damage from Hurricane Helene. Certain sections do have downed trees piled up next to the trail, but doesn't obstruct passage throughout the rest of the way, so be cautious of trees during storms or windy weather. The trail is wide enough for one vehicle and offers a small stream crossing toward the end.
