FS 206 Spur 2

This trail is another offshoot of Pettiford Creek FS 206 and consists of a sandy double track that winds through Croatan National Forest, offering access to Pettiford Creek. While slightly more challenging than FS 206, it remains manageable and enjoyable for most vehicles. The trail begins in a typical forest setting before transitioning into a more bog-like environment. At the end, there is a clearing suitable for camping with a couple of vehicles, with potential access to Pettiford Creek via a short walk through marshy terrain. An offshoot along the route provides more direct creek access if preferred. Two or three small mud pits may be encountered, which typically dry out quickly after rainfall but are worth noting depending on conditions.
