Trail Overview

This is a short but rewarding drive for a novice of roader, or just someone looking for an easy day out. It provides some nice views of the Berkshires and pleasant topography, especially in the spring or fall. Be sure to pay attention to the signs stating where the permitted motorized vehicle use ends.

2018 Subaru Crosstrek

A little rough for a stock Crosstrek, but we made it out without any damage. We bottomed out right at the start, and there were a few spots where we had to take some sharp angles to avoid getting hung up. Overall though, it wasn’t too bad and definitely manageable with some careful driving.

Very big hump right at the beginning. I bellied out on it but was able to force my way off make sure you have a gas tank skid.

The road was washed away a lot after winter, there is a deep track in some places, a lot of trees that almost fell on the road, but got caught in a nearby tree.

Would not suggest doing this in a Subaru as I did... there are stretches of easy trail; however, the obstacles require real ground clearance. There are a lot of jagged rocks almost perfectly placed to shred your undercarriage.

Trail mildly blocked at the beginning but cleared and able to get around. As you get towards the hill it is impassable due to a large fallen tree.
