Trail Overview

The Otter Creek Trail traverses a diverse landscape of sand and gravel throughout the western end of the Otter Creek State Forest. Several established primitive campsites are available along the route, providing ideal spots to park and explore the surrounding Southern Adirondack forest, where you may encounter a variety of local wildlife. Please be aware that this trail is frequently used by equestrians and cyclists; kindly remain alert and respect their right of way.

This trail is well-maintained and free of notable obstacles, though drivers should be prepared for typical potholes and washboard sections. While the trail is generally wide enough to accommodate oncoming traffic, please remain cautious, as there are specific sections that are narrow with limited or no pull-off areas.
