Valle de la Piedra Loop - FS 92

Hidden in the high country west of Rosilla Peak, the Valle de la Piedra Loop is a beautiful backcountry drive featuring lush mountain meadows, dense conifer forests, sweeping ridgelines, and a remote feel that’s increasingly difficult to find. While the route isn’t technically demanding in dry conditions, the winding mountain roads and rocky changing terrain make for an enjoyable day. The loop offers a little bit of everything; open valleys, shaded forests, occasional rocky climbs, and plenty of opportunities to stop for photos or simply enjoy the solitude of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
