Trail Overview

Pucker Falls is an exciting 1.2-mile technical trail designed for capable four-wheel-drive vehicles, SxSs, and built rigs seeking challenging rock obstacles along the Quebradas Backcountry Byway. Starting in a sandy wash, the route gradually intensifies as boulders grow larger and obstacles become increasingly difficult. Drivers will negotiate several steep v-notch obstacles that test articulation and tire placement, making high-clearance four-wheel-drive vehicles with rock sliders and skid plates highly recommended. While all major obstacles feature bypasses to accommodate groups with mixed capabilities, the main lines deliver a true rock crawling test. The route finishes with a steep, loose hill climb named "The Great Escape," which serves as the trail's primary exit. Continuing past this exit leads through an extra boulder field to the impressive undercut waterfall that gives the trail its name. Navigating this canyon involves about 270 feet of elevation gain, starting at 4,777 feet and topping out at 5,048 feet.
