Trail Overview
Pine Loop is a 1.6-mile trail that makes a loop with Gamble Oak and Pine Flat Connector. Starting on the west end, it steadily climbs up from the intersection with Pine Flat Connector on a pretty easy trail with several rocky sections. It starts out in a ravine but has sections of rocks that are like diagonal blocks across the trail. It gains 200 feet to the intersection with Oak Flat Connector. The east half of the loop is a bit more difficult, with very tight turns through tree pinches, as the trees very tightly line the trail here. There are some flat slabs of rock and small ledges that are intermediate difficulty. You go down one shelfy spot that is a narrower section with bigger boulders, but you can skirt around the edge of the boulders, so it is not too difficult. It ends on Gamble Oak.
