Pecos River Cruise

Did this trail on a whim while driving back from Carlsbad Caverns and was pleasantly surprised. It’s a very fun trail right by the water. There are many different paths and offshoots, some more challenging than others. I will say tho it is unmaintained and branches stick out a lot. If careful u can avoid pinstripes but certain paths its unavoidable. We saw 3 other vehicles throughout.

Very tight trail, so do expect some pinstripes. Short one that's fun to spend with the family. Did a majority of it in 2wd, with the exception of one deep ditch area. Starts off as a super rocky clean trail, then gets into the tight areas with big misquite bushes and a ton of silt. Overall a nice, easy trail.

High clearance yes, dry conditions 4x4 not needed. Very tight if you want to keep your paint pin stripe free. Plenty of scratch hazards. Narrow wheel base and clearance needed. Some loose sand and exposed trash/roots that can snag sidewalls . I came out without hitting any brush, but it took a lot of focus to do so.
