Trail Overview

This minimally traveled route follows FR 194 through the Cibola National Forest and winds along the southern boundaries of the Ignacio Chavez and Chamisa Wilderness Study Areas. It is a level route that has open meadows and gorgeous tree stands. There are many areas for camping, picnics and hiking. Deer, elk and wide variety of birds are frequently seen.

The trail is open but was closed towards the end so you will have to turn back if doing the trail. Trail has some Rocky and steep parts but most of the trail is normal. I would recommend a high clearance vehicle with AWD or 4x4.
