Trail Overview

Lone Pine is a 2-mile trail in the Manzanita Mountain Trail System that starts on the south end as a fast and flowy trail on smooth dirt with no rocks. It's a bit troughed, with banked corners. The beginning is a 2 difficulty. It gets rockier and trickier after the intersection with Pinyon with a few rock obstacles. The obstacles are small rock ledge drop-offs and stair steps that are a couple of feet high and often with several lines to choose from. Note that the south end of the trail is a bit hidden off the Meadow Ridge Road. It starts a few feet up an unmarked dirt road at a pinch point through a fence. It also goes through a logging area for a section, resulting in a lot of woodchip debris in the trail. The trail ends at the intersection with Gear Grinder and Bear Scat, both of which are more difficult.
