Trail Overview

This parking area is off NF-10 and FS-266 in the Ponderosa Forest. The trail starts at the end of Bear Springs, FS-266. 35.739684, -106.558652. The trail has lots of curves and corners. The first mile or two is very rutted out. The scenery is just beautiful. There are a couple of side trails, however, we have not explored them yet. This trail was traveled in May, and there was still some snow. Some of the trails can be very narrow. We rode this trail in a 62-inch-wide side by side with no issues. There are a couple of meadows to pull over on and have lunch. I would recommend having lunch up by the small pond that is close to where we turned around. The end of this trail for us was 35.792503, -106533075.

Gates were open. Took the trail all the way up to the saddle. Some rocket stretches but managed in a stock Tacoma TRD Off-road.
