Trail Overview

Bear Canyon Road begins in the Signal Fire burn scar but climbs into a beautiful Ponderosa pine forest. The road is generally easy and well-maintained. Great views of the Black Range as you climb higher. The vegetation is an interesting mix primarily Ponderosa pines but also some agaves. Agaves are mostly found in Mexico and are what tequila and mescal are made from. The road ends at a private inholding. Don't go through the gate. The Continental Divide Hiking Trail crosses the road.
