Trail Overview

Trail 953 is a faint two-track through a grassy and rutted forest floor, with a few tracks to help follow the route, but it looks very minimally trafficked. It starts and ends off of #952, going through a dry and sparse ponderosa pine forest. There are some small ruts right away on the north end. Overall, the trail is pretty flat with minimal elevation change and not very rocky, making it relatively easy. However, it is easy to accidentally get off track because it is primitive and overgrown in areas. You'll want an offline map here. There are a couple of deeper v-bottom washed-out ravine crossings that are more off-camber and sloped, including one where people have stacked logs. These will be trickier for ATVs to navigate. The southern half parallels a sandy ravine and follows a wash until it ends on the south end at an intersection with Trail 952 in a big wash.

Difficulty

This trail is moderate due to a couple of off-camber ravine crossings that are deep and uneven, which will be trickier for ATVs to cross. The rest of the trail is rather easy, but the route also requires some navigation skills as it is faint and easy to get off the trail.
