Trail Overview

This trail starts at the end of Cobble Hill Rd and ends at Stones Mill Rd. It is primarily uphill on wet, uneven, rocky terrain consisting of large rocks to climb over and loose gravel. There are a lot of steep drops that a stock vehicle may not be able to handle. Along the trail lies a small cemetery from the 1800s and some wetlands. There isn't much for sightseeing, but it is good for those looking for more challenging terrain.

Difficulty

Trail has uneven, wet, rocky terrain. the larger rocks can be difficult to get over due to being steep and having big dips in between. The loose gravel can also make it difficult to gain traction along with the small brook that travels down the trail.

Pretty washed out, very rocky. Broke my rear shock, so not a full “6” of the difficulty scale but closer to 6 than a 5.

Nice trail! Dry weather helped. Able to pass hard sections with 4 door 2024 Jeep Rubicon stock from BOston airport rental with all options engaged. Not many stock vehicles can handle it. Much deeper and it would have been scraping.

Nice trail to challenge a stock vehicle, did in a stock 4x4 Toyota Tacoma with a slightly bigger then stock mud tire. Little bit of scraping here and there but with the right line you can get through in a stock 4x4 truck.

First time on a trail didn’t find it any thing challenging. I may not have gone up all the way as I turned around when I found an uphill trail ending at some house.

Started on the side with the pond by Pisgah State Forest, wheeled to the Draper camp site and stayed for the night, very wet and rocky but not difficult even with only 1 inch lift. After the campsite the rocks got too big for the rig so we went to the other side and turned around when we couldn't go any farther. Would say it was a 3/4 rating for what we did but turns into a 5 around the midway point. The photo shows the spot we turned around at on the opposite end I would reccomend walking the difficult parts first it's deceiving.
