Trail Overview
This short 2.6 mile out and back trail is a great side trip on the Old US 93 Road. This trail follows a wash up to the turn off, right before the turn off is a dispersed camping sign. There are some posts to the right which identify the turn. This is where the trail gets more difficult and is very narrow with no area to turn around. If you have a large group, park in the wash and hike the remainder of the trail to the Mines. Suggest no more than two vehicles up at the mine. The only turn around is right before the last hill or on the tailings mound at the mine (very limited space). This trail is within the Lake Mead National Recreation Area and is a fee area.
History
This trail used to provide access to the Two B's Mine which produced Gold back in the 1930s-40s. There are two horizontal mine shafts in this area, which you can look into. Both are barred to prevent entrance. The lower mine shaft can be driven up to, the higher mine shaft is a difficult climb up the mountain side.
