Trail Overview

This 14.4 mile out and back trail is a remnant of the original US HWY 93 built in 1926. Once paved this dirt road passes through mountain cuts and over filled in washes. This trail is relatively smooth to travel across. There are several side trails that are used for maintaining the power lines in the area, and are for authorized vehicles only. This trail is passable by any vehicle.

Though not regularly maintained, this trail follows the old US Highway 93 and is relatively smooth.

History

US Highway 93 was originally built in 1926 and still exists today. Many of the original sections have been rebuilt and are included with the Interstate system. The south end starts in Wickenburg Arizona, and ends at the US/Canada border (Port of Roosville). This section was part of the 1935-1936 extension from Las Vegas, Nevada to Kingman, Arizona, upon the completion of the Hoover Dam.
