Trail Overview

This route takes you from the Mina area to Little Huntoon Valley. It is easy and can be completed in dry conditions with a 2WD full-size vehicle. You cross Garfield Flat where Aerojet General uses the dry lakebed for a test facility. After the dry lakebed, you can follow Rattlesnake Flats Road for an easier route that ties back into this trail later. If you follow this route it takes you into Rattlesnake Canyon which has more interesting sites but is a slightly rougher trail. After you cross Rattlesnake Summit there are several side trails to explore if you choose. You can even reach Highway 359 and Hawthorne by taking Sweetwater Ranch Road. Continue on this route to reach Little Huntoon Valley.
