Trail Overview

Little Devil's Peak trail is a fun and often overlooked trail west of Jean, Nevada. It is part of a trail system that spiders over the entire area created years ago to access mines. Much of the trail is stock friendly and traverses through a series of small canyons. It isn't until the last mile of the trail that it turns north and begins to ascend that the obstacles start. Although a stock vehicle could possibly make it through, some of the steps and waterfalls will scrape the bottom of your vehicle unless it is lifted.

This trail description is still mostly accurate, but rains must have made the last 1/2 mile more severe. The rock gardens here now likely require lockers, and 35" tires were not enough to avoid heavy reliance on skid plates and sliders. Recommend group travel and rigs lifted above stock height.

Trail is really fun but way more technical than a 4 IMO. The last mile is super tight and steep in places. We found a spot to turn around half way up the difficult part and bailed. We would’ve completed it but we were alone and didn’t want to risk it. We’ll be back, fun trail with a really cool mining tunnel to explore!

Love this trail. Lots of off shoots to enjoy if your rig is on the smaller side. Nothing out of the normal, nice quiet night. Didn’t pass anyone else this late on my way to AIM EXPO

easy on the way up with some v notches and washouts, light washboards. once you get up to the labels ONX mines it gets highly rocky, then you get up into the top and it gets very narrow. One of our 4 people needed to replace a tire (two had gashes in them). at 75% we turned back. walking up there is an obstacle about 4 ft high to climb.

washboard from the start, then about 2.5 miles in smooths out a bit, after starting up the canyon it gets tight in a few places and then a series of steps to climb in the last 3/4 of the trail. started at 8am and could have been back home by 1pm. fun trail with some technical climbs. 5 vehicles in group

First 80% of the trail is very easy with mostly sand and gravel terrain. The last part of the trail has a lot of off camber very tight obstacles. Small lift and 35"+ tires will be need to get to the summit. The trail is very narrow so turning around is limited to certain areas. 3 on the bottom 6 on the last top section.
