Trail Overview

This challenging section of the Mint 400 pre-run features steep, rocky climbs with technical step-ups that will test both driver skill and vehicle capability. The route includes narrow, off-camber shelf roads where precise tire placement is crucial, as well as tight corners that demand careful maneuvering. Expect sustained, steep ascents over loose and uneven terrain, with exposed rock faces adding to the difficulty. This trail is not for the faint of heart- high-clearance, 4WD vehicles with experienced drivers are recommended. Take it slow, pick your lines wisely, and enjoy the rugged beauty of this legendary off-road route.

We did about half of this trail as part of an outing around the Jean Dry Lake area. We started this at the entry point closest to the access road/I-15, went about halfway and turned around at the hairpin turn and came out. It was rutted and rocky but doable in our mostly stock Tacoma. Hit the skid plate several times, but nothing significant. We didn't do the whole thing as we initially tried to enter from the far side/opposite end of the trail at first but it was in a danger zone with lots of rifle and pistol practice going on, pointed right towards the entry point. Sorry I am unable to report on anything beyond the hairpin turn. Didn't get any pics.
