Fish Hook is an exciting trail that begins just south of the Apex staging area, offering a pleasant ride along a ridge before transitioning into a loose hill that descends into a sandy wash. This route provides an adventurous opportunity for off-road enthusiasts, featuring a series of blind and loose hill climbs that demand careful navigation and attention to your driving. The trail predominantly consists of dirt and rock, with some sandy sections sprinkled throughout, creating a diverse driving experience. As you approach the southern hook end of the trail, you'll discover a series of fun bermed corners that provide an exhilarating chance to take them at speed, making for a fun transition through the corners. Important Note: Fish Hook is a trail that boasts spectacular views of the surrounding desert landscape. Be sure to watch for military aircraft, as this area is near Nellis Air Force Base, where you may catch glimpses of various jets and helicopters flying overhead. Expect about two bars of 5G Verizon service along the route, though this connectivity may vary. As always, prepare adequately with plenty of water and supplies for your desert adventure, and download your offline maps beforehand to navigate effectively.
