Trail Overview

This is an easy trail from the highway onto the Black Velvet Road. Head in a short distance to an area to air down. After airing down, the trail has a few small obstacles with easy bypasses. Most of the trail is easy gravel with a few sections of rock gardens, a few wash crossings, and some washboards. It's an easy trail with beautiful views. The trail ends at the Late Night Trail parking lot where you can air up, use the restroom, and hit the road home. Only licensed 4x4 vehicles are allowed in the Red Rock National Conservation Area.

Pretty easy trail. A couple deep spots to negotiate. I did this in Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness. Great beginner trail.

Super easy and beginner friendly trail. I was the only one so I could stop every now and then and enjoy the views.

Awesome trail! I’m a beginner and took my bone stock GX460. No issues at all and a perfect trail for anyone looking to start off-roading. I would recommend 4WD for anyone going on this trail just for the last couple of hills. I will be back!!

Pretty simple trail, a few steep climbs near the last section if starting on the East end. Lots of runners, atv and dirtbike traffic.

Fun trail. If you start at the A marker side all the hard parts are within a quarter mile. My truck handled everything no problem. Can’t really say much, this was my first time off roading.

A few spots to turn around and will probably need 4x4 for the most western section (either the beginning or the end depending on where you start) Great scenery and the temperature was perfect at 7:30

The rutted inclines at the end of the trail would classify this as a 3 in OnX's system. However, they are easy to pass even on a lifted Subaru like mine. Beautiful views of the sunset.

Good quick trip is short on time. Feels like you are out of the city. Watch for mountain bikers being some of their trails cross main trail.

Fairly easy trail. Several areas near the end of the trail that were steep with washed out boulders that made it challenging. Took good lines on a stock Trailhawk with no issues. Overall very scenic, easy and a fun short trail.

I saw a shooting star and the city lights from afar, very stunning!
