Trail Overview
This is an out-and-back trail. There is a large area at the end of the trail to turn around. The trail is mainly comprised of soft sand that can be deep in some areas. It also has areas of soft sand and hard pack. The trail is primarily a 2 track and the tracks can become difficult to see and follow at times. There are areas with grass overgrowth and erosion on the sides of the trail. There are cattle gates that must be opened and closed along the trail. The 2 track trail is generally narrow but since it is mainly flat, it does allow for the passing of other vehicles. There are areas along the trail with small ruts and washouts. There are also spots to dispersed camp. The trail offers very nice views of the surrounding prairies and sand dunes.
