Trail Overview

This is a very nice and easy forest service road with several decent-sized boulders sticking up in the road. Once you reach the peak and start down the other side, it narrows to a tight, single track. There are a fair amount of turn-out spots going down into the Storm Castle area. There are plenty of great views along the way. Maximum elevation is around 9,000 feet.

Road was slippery but not too bad, The tracks were shallow for the first half of the trail but the second half had us dragging front skids on the center track. The second half of the trail is also more technical in the slick snow with a few steep descents and small rock crawling sections. None of our trucks touched skid plates jn the rocks but we didn't have much control as we slid down.

Took a 2024 Chevy 2500 crew cab long bed on this first half is easy cruising. Definitely changes descending into the valley. Do able but gets technical and tight

From north to south this trail goes from easy road to narrow rocky shelf. The Wilson Creek Divide Road is fairly basic, however be prepared for the turn onto Mica Creek Rd, to complete trail. it gets substantially more rocky, and was only about the width of my Gladiator Rubicon for most of the shelf road on the way down. this section until you reach NFR 132 really needs low range, disconnected sway bar, and good ground clearance.

Trail is pretty easy going from north to south. Once you get farther south it gets harder with narrow shelf roads and bigger obstacles. Recommend at least a small lift . Stock would work just might be a little harder toward the end.

Trail is technically now open for all motorized, however the gate at the bottom of Micah is still locked. Can get through with narrow SXS but not a jeep.

Got up to the start of the trail around 6pm, super beautiful and easy drive for the first hour and a half, got pretty dark once I got to the switchback by the little bear trail and a thunderstorm rolled in. Not a super fun last half of the drive when it's dark and pouring rain but I would imagine it's not so bad during the day. Pretty rocky for most of the drive but the worst of it is towards the end, was pretty dry in the beginning but got pretty muddy once the rain rolled in. Would recommend checking the weather before you go lol.

Trail fully operational, no large obstacles, stream running really high, and really close to road at times.

Snowy in the shade and light mud elsewhere my Outback Wilderness had no issues with Xmode on. The main trail gate is closed. Fun little day trip today.
