Trail Overview
Sleeping Child Creek Trail - FS84 - This section of the Sleeping Child Creek Trail is not for the inexperienced or timid rider. It can be accessed from Corral Trail on the east, and from the west you can get to it from the western section of Sleeping Child Cr, Bald Top Man trail, or White Stallion Camp trail. The trail has frequent rock garden areas and some marshy areas. There are large sections where the trail is very narrow with rock obstacles and extreme side-hill exposure. Some sections are slow and flow well, but expect lots of brush and some downed trees. Because it’s only open from June 16 to August 30, it isn’t well used. The creek crossings are not terrible in August, but before that can be fairly deep with steep, muddy banks. There are no particularly difficult hill climbs, but a good share of the trail is fairly steep sidehill and narrow. If you aren't intimidated by narrow, steep exposure, water crossings, and rock gardens, this trail is fun and challenging. There is no cell service on the entire trail, so satellite communication access is advised.
Difficulty
Very narrow, off-camber, steep sidehill exposure with rock obstacles. Water crossing may be deep until August. Rock gardens with brush to complicate them. Likely there will be trees down to get over or clear.
