Trail Overview
Ratio Mountain Majesty Loop is an exciting 3.7-mile off-road trail perfect for intermediate riders looking to experience stunning high-country vistas around a 7,175-foot peak. Starting with a challenging, steep ascent, the trail climbs approximately 1,500 feet, tackling a very rocky hill that demands careful tire placement. After this initial climb is conquered, the route levels out as it completely circles Ratio Mountain, offering sweeping views of the picturesque Whitehall Basin below.
The remainder of the loop transitions into an easier, moderate drive through scenic high-altitude meadows and dense evergreen forests. While the trail remains consistently rocky, it lacks complex technical obstacles or water crossings, making it highly manageable once the initial climb is complete. Offroaders should note that the area is active bear country, so carrying proper deterrents is highly recommended, along with packing extra fuel to explore connecting trails like the Ringing Rocks Trail.
Difficulty
There are no water crossings on this trail, but it's VERY steep and rocky on the initial incline. Once you reach 7200 feet it levels off into high country meadows and forests. It's a very rocky trail, but not very technical.
