Just wet and rocky on the south end, but as you head farther north it gets muddy and snowy. Big mud puddles and thick sticky mud ruts. Can be slippery in places.

Even with a bit of snow on the dirt roads, above 7K Ft Elevation, with afternoon temperatures in the low 50s, it was sure nice to get out for a ride, before the more substantive snows come to the Bridger Mountains, here in Southwest (Bozeman) Montana.

Figured there would be lots of mud after having quite a bit of rain here the last week, but there was very little of it. Very easy road, but a bit narrow in some areas. some shelf roads, but wide enough to not make me nervous and I'm a shelf road wimp. only encountered a handful of folks on the trail on a Saturday early afternoon. Great scenery.

Any stock SUV can surely do this trail. Lots of rocks, road was dry at the time, I can see where it can be and get muddy after some rain that would make it a bit challenging for lower SUVs. 90% of the trail is one vehicle wide. Watch out for bicyclists on the first part of the trail, then watch out for oncoming traffic as you get into the residential part of the trail towards the last few miles.

Nice mostly easy trail. Done in pickup truck. Some places you definitely need a little bit of higher clearance for but not an issue if you know how to navigate them correctly. Great views of the Bridgers and lots of wildflowers this time of year! Was one or two deep mud holes while up there, but easily avoidable.

Pretty easy trail. Any SUV can do it. Beautiful views. Definitely a good Sunday cruise kind of trail.

Olsen Creek is open to Skunk Creek road near the NF boundary. The loop is closed until Skunk Creek opens on June 16th.
