Trail Overview

Marsh Creek Trail is a popular access point to Granite Peak Lookout in the Helena National Forest. This trail is also part of the Continental Divide Route, so in the summer be on the lookout for mountain bikers, Jeeps and adventure motorcycles. It is not uncommon to see deer and elk while on this trail so keep the camera handy.

Marsh creek is a pretty standard forest service road. This onx trail ends basically at the forest service boundary, but you can continue up this road to Stemple pass. Once you are past the forest service boundary (where this trail ends), the road gets steep in places, narrows, gets pretty rocky/loose, and climbs the entire way to Marsh Creek Trailhead. Once past the trailhead, it goes back to a pretty standard forest service road all the way to Stemple. Overall, pretty fun road and nice fall colors at this time of year.

Marsh Creek Trail can be accessed by the following ride types:

  • Single Track
  • 50 Inch
  • 60 Inch
  • High Clearance
  • Full Width
