Dirt road with occasional runoff and puddles from recent rainfall. Overall easy drive, narrow with small pullouts for passing traffic. Skyline Ridge TH ~3 mi in from Pattee Canyon Road. Road becomes rockier in the last couple of miles of the route. Great views of forested hills and later in the drive, mountains!

Most of this trail has a 2 rating, although the last third is a 3, with some areas having deep puddles and ruts. The first two thirds are easy dirt roads with a couple loose rocks. I was the only one to go up to the last third in some time as indicative of the undisturbed snow and mostly frozen puddles. A section where the trail splits caused some trouble as I got stuck and had to back up and then take the uphill at some speed to get over it. The hairpin is angled pretty sharp, and I didn't have the traction to get up it. I got out by backing up in four high and went back down. It was easy to get out in four-wheel high, but the snow gets considerably deeper up to about 8 inches past the hairpin turn.
