Trail Overview

Wimbledon is a series of steep climbs and descents that weave through open timber for most of the way. Many of the hills are off camber, which makes smooth throttle and brake inputs critical to avoid washing your tires out down the slope. Maintaining momentum is also key because starting from a stop may not be possible on some climbs. One hill in particular is very steep, loose, and off-camber to one side. Run the trail clockwise to ride down it or counterclockwise to climb it. There's a section close to the northern trailhead that has water trickling down a hill covered in slick rocks, roots, and mud that can be challenging as well.

Difficulty

The hills and off-camber nature of Wimbledon are the most fun but also the most challenging aspect of the trail. Several hills are very steep and difficult to climb, especially if the dirt isn't perfect loam. A mistake on line choice or too sharp of throttle/brake inputs in some sections can wash your tires out of the main line down the slope or leave you spinning in the middle of the hill. There are a number of log crossings and rock gardens littered throughout that aren't especially tricky but do pile onto the technical nature of Wimbledon.
