This trail branches off the Echo Trail and offers a rugged, enjoyable drive through dense forest. From the beginning, it is narrow, overgrown, and marked by rocks and bumps, making vehicle pinstriping nearly unavoidable. The route includes a series of gradual ascents and descents as it winds its way deeper into the woods. At one point, the trail crosses a low-lying section where a nearby lake had flooded the track to a depth of approximately a foot and a half at the time of travel. It’s advisable to walk the flooded section first to assess water depth before proceeding. Beyond the water crossing, the trail climbs to a clearing that provides a suitable spot for dispersed camping. The area features a level surface for parking, an established fire ring, and relatively few insects, making it a practical overnight option. However, there are no formal campsites or services along this route, and travelers should not expect access to water, trash disposal, or reliable cell coverage.
