Trail Overview
FS 606 may surprise you when you first get on the trail. It starts out fairly manageable but becomes increasingly difficult, narrow, and overgrown as you continue. There are sections with very low clearance for taller 4x4s, so pay close attention to the trail ahead. Mud holes are scattered along the route, and the heavy overgrowth can hide rocks, holes, and other obstacles in the trail that may catch you by surprise. Logs and downed trees can also become obstacles after storms, adding another challenge to an already rustic trail.
As you get farther in, the vegetation becomes extremely close to the trail and may brush against your vehicle. Grass grows through the center between the tire tracks, and with the trail being so narrow, finding a place to pull over or allow another vehicle to pass can be difficult.
FS 606 isn't a technically extreme trail, but its overgrowth, mud, hidden obstacles, tight conditions, and potential downed trees give it a very rustic feel. If you enjoy getting away from the more traveled trails and don't mind vegetation rubbing against your vehicle, this one offers a fun and isolated adventure. Just take it slow and be prepared for obstacles that may not be visible until you're right on top of them.
Difficulty
This trail is very overgrown and has many hidden obstacles, including rocks and holes that can be deeper than they look. It is one lane only, with a few places to pass. Low clearance and close vegetation are found in some areas.
