Trail Overview
This trail offers a quiet, forested route but is narrow, overgrown, and best suited for well-equipped vehicles. Pinstriping is unavoidable due to encroaching vegetation, and downed trees may block the path—on our visit, we needed a chainsaw to clear a few sections. The trail surface is uneven, with large potholes and rocky patches, and it follows a series of modest ascents and descents as it winds through dense woodland. Roughly a mile in, a clearing/dispersed camping area provides a worthwhile turnaround point for most vehicles, as the trail becomes significantly more overgrown beyond the campsite and is eventually impassable. Two shallow water crossings are located on this route—one before and one just after the campsite. The second crossing marks the point at which the trail deteriorates completely into thick brush and downed timber. There are no formal campsites or developed facilities along this trail. No toilets, trash disposal, or potable water are available, and cell phone reception may be inconsistent or nonexistent.
