Trail Overview
Here’s the review in the same style as the others, keeping it short since this is a smaller spur trail.
FH 14 Spur 716 is a small trail, but don't let its size fool you. This single-lane route provides a little adventure as it winds through the forest, making it a nice addition to a day of exploring the area.
The trail starts with some gravel before transitioning into a narrower two-track with grass growing between the tire tracks. There are also sandy sections along the route, and during wetter weather you can expect water holes that add a little more challenge and fun to the drive.
As you continue along the trail, you'll pass through several openings where there are opportunities to stop, take in the surroundings, and enjoy the natural scenery. Much of the route is surrounded by tall trees, giving the trail a secluded feeling despite being relatively short.
There aren't any major technical obstacles on FH 14 Spur 716, but the combination of the narrow trail, sand, water holes, and changing conditions makes it an enjoyable little spur to explore. It's a short run, but one that can provide a little excitement and a good opportunity to get out and enjoy the forest.
