Trail Overview
Dumbbell River Spur H is a short backwoods spur that begins on a gravel-and-rock surface before transitioning to a predominantly grassy two-track. The trail passes through a relatively open, regenerating forest area with younger trees and evidence of previous fire disturbance. Embedded rocks increase in size along the route, with several exposed rocks around 4–6 inches creating mild undulation and occasional off-camber driving. Vegetation becomes increasingly close to the vehicle, with branches and weeds brushing the sides. The trail remains generally dry, with no significant mud holes or water crossings observed. Several downed trees require maneuvering around. The field-observed route ends where heavy vegetation and a downed tree block further full-size-vehicle travel.
Difficulty
The trail is relatively mild in terms of rock and terrain obstacles, but it becomes narrow and overgrown enough to require careful vehicle placement. Embedded rocks up to approximately 5–6 inches and several downed trees add minor obstacles. Full-size vehicles should expect vegetation contact and should proceed slowly through the tighter sections.
