Trail Overview

West Brenaman Road is a state owned/ locally maintained, Level-2/ Level-3, forest access route with a surface composition of sand, dirt, tree roots, and native material. It is a "Two-Track" route that connects West Dan Road to West Vermillion Road and West Wildcat Road.

History

West Brenaman Road (often spelled Brenamen) is a localized roadway nestled near the mouth of the Shelldrake River in the Whitefish Point area of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. It is the historical epicenter of Shelldrake, a once-booming late-19th-century sawmill town and a recognized site on the Michigan Historic Register.
