Sand, dirt, gravel route typically unmaintained after rain or snow that may give rise to water crossings > 12” and obstacles such as trees/ tree branches.

History

Located about 10 miles west of the Whitefish Point Lighthouse, Vermillion Road winds toward Vermilion Point, a remote stretch of the "Shipwreck Coast". Established in 1877, the historic Vermilion Lifesaving Station and its restored buildings are now a protected nature preserve known for its haunting history and natural beauty.
