This is Trail P - Cascade Falls, located in Ontonagon County, Michigan. This portion of Trail P runs from its intersection with Trail P - FDR502 and FDR 400, to its intersection with Trail P, FDR 655, and Norwich Road. This section of Trail P can access the Cascade Falls trail head via FDR 400, but the time to complete the trail does not include stopping at the falls. This section of Trail P continues north as it travels through mature Upper Peninsula forests. There is a wide variety of hardwoods, as well as pines and undergrowth as this trail progresses. The trail will change several times between two track, and areas that can accommodate two machines at slow speed. However, the majority of this trail is still narrow, and speed will need to be reduced in order to pass. The surface on this trail is mostly dirt and clay. After a recent rainfall few mud holes or water spots will develop on this trail, and some portions of the trail can become very slick. Cell service on this trail is intermittent, and it is best to be prepared and have downloaded maps. This trail can also be ridden December 1st- March 31st as a groomed snowmobile trail UP 13.

Difficulty

This trail can be completed by riders of all experience levels. The trail surface creates a very forgiving environment for newer or inexperienced riders. Additionally, the trail is well signed, allowing for easy navigation. This trail remains quite narrow for most of its length, and it has many blind corners. These areas should be approached at a slower speed to avoid any potential accidents. The trail is width-restricted to SxS under 65 inches, but most machines this size will need to slow down in order to pass each other safely. As of August 2025, there is a large sinkhole located at the northwestern edge of this trail. It is barricaded with cones; however, there is no warning of the obstacle. It is located around a blind corner, roughly at 46.67048, -89.43099.

Access Description

This trail can be accessed by Trail P - FDR502, FDR 400,Trail P, Fdr 655, and Norwich Rd. Parking for this trail is conveniently located off Trail P - FDR502, accessed by US Hwy M-28 at (46.59573, -89.54028). This parking location is large and has ample room for several large trucks and trailers. The road that navigates to the parking area is part of Trail P and is very narrow, so be sure to be cautious of other riders utilizing the trail.
