Trail Overview

Tight Twistie is in the middle of the island and has it all. This trail can challenge any vehicle. Be prepared when you run this trail since some spots are tight. Make sure your winch is working since the mud can be deep not only during the spring after winter thaw and even when it's dry in the summer. There are some bypasses but don't be fooled they have deep ruts too. Do not go alone on this trail since cellular phone service is spotty.

Tank traps in the middle of the trail are nothing but clay with no bypass. Both jeeps (JT and JK rubicon with 3.5 in lift and 37s) needed to be winched out.

“Tight” is definitely a good word for it! The trail has ALOT of overgrowth right now making this trail extremely tight on the south end. Midway through the trail you will come to “tank traps” / “mud holes” with ruts that are extremely deep! We were unable to proceed in our expedition. We turned around. There is no bypass around these “holes”. Winch is highly recommended. Never seen the north side because these “ruts” were impassable.
